I haven't done a "Top 10" since my favorite tools + desk accessories, so I thought I'd share my Top 11 favorites in beauty and skincare. I couldn't pick just 10.

When it comes to my face and makeup, many people have asked me, "I love your makeup! . . . your skin! . . . What do you use?" And I'm usually stumped because I never know where to start. I'd like to think I take care of my skin from morning to night. Ever since my endless exposure to the sun in high school and college, I've taken much better care of my skin, especially my face. I have a pretty consistent regimen that I share below. And you know by now, I'm not the DIY type so you won't find any coconut-oil, salt-and-honey, home-remedies here!

Here is a peak into all the products I use–most of them I've been loyal to for years.

We'll start with my skin profile because what works for me, might not work for you.

Combination: Dry immediately after I wash my face, oily T zone by the end of the day. And it loves makeup!
Olive Coloring: Yellow/olive in the winter months, very dark brown when the sun is shining.

In the shower, I wash my face with a clean, simple face wash. I recently switches from Chanel (which I've used for at least 6 years) to Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser. It's gentle, fragrance-free, lathers great and doesn't leave my face feeling dry. About once a week, I'll add (8) Bobbi Brown Buffing Grains to my face wash for a gentle scrub that actually works and removes dead skin! When it comes to body soap, I go by what's white. Since Aesop opened on Newbury Street, I use Aesop Body Cleaning Slab. It's slightly clear and smells naturally great. And I always have good ole IVORY soap stocked in my bathroom too. It lathers and has a fresh, clean scent. I stopped using fruity, died, or overly fragrant products. And I never have used anything floral.

Immediately after the shower, I apply Bobbi Browns Extra Repair Moisturizing Balm SPF (always use a moisturizer with SPF protection, even in the winter months!) and Curél Ultra Healing lotion on my body. And when I feel like giving my skin a good drink or want beach-y locks, I spray (6) Herbivore Botanicals Sea Mist. It's filled with sea water, essential oils and sea salt bringing life to my skin and hair.

Before I put my face on, I first apply a thin layer of (1) Bobbi Brown Vitamin Enriched Face Base or (4) SmashBox Photofinish Foundation Primer. Both of these provide a nice base for my makeup, especially when I want it to set all day.

Since I started buying makeup, I was a dedicated MAC Cosmetics fan, but over the past couple of years, I've incorporated many NARS Cosmetics to my makeup bag. I find them simple, natural and easy to use. After a thin layer of MAC StudioFix Power (applied with a brush for thinner coverage), I love (5) NARS Bronzing Power below and behind my cheeks, and (7) MAC Mineralize SkinFinish to highlight the tops of my cheeks.

Bobbi Brown Extreme Party Mascara (2) is awesome for my little lashes and then I line the top of my lids with (10) Make Up For Ever Aqua Liner. It doesn't fade and stays in place. And if you mess up, you can simply use a Q-tip to wipe your lid clean. I first discovered Make Up For Ever when I tried their Kohl Pencil at my cousin's wedding. After attempting to fight back a flood of tears during my maid-of-honor speech, every girl said to me, "Whatever eyeliner you use, it hasn't run at all, and still looks perfect!" I haven't stopped using it ever since. Both provide a very rich, precise black.

Lips! I always have (3) NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil (belle de jour) and (9) NARS Satin Lip Stick (honolulu honey) with me. Both are clutch for a natural, matte look. MAC lipsticks are awesome too!

I wash off all my makeup, pollution and oils from the day. Never let makeup sit on your skin at bedtime. For years, I used Chanel Mousse Douceur. It lathers great and makes my skin silky when I'm rinsing it off, but leaves my skin feeling a little too tight, which it's suppose to do. However, because my skin dries out immediately after I wash my face, it's not ideal for me. So I've started to use Bobbi Brown Soothing Oil Cleanser. I apply it with completely dry hands and a dry face (it washes away otherwise), and massage it all over my face. Before you know it, it lifts all the makeup, oil and dirt, off your face. I love it and because it's oil, my skin is left soft, not tight. I follow with Bobbi Brown's Hydrating Eye Cream, and Bobbi Brown Hydrating Intense Night Cream. The skin around your eyes absorb cream differently than the rest of your face, so make sure you use an eye cream. You can never start too early!

Then before I head to bed, I lather my hands in (11) Aesop Body Balm (geranium leaf) or the oh-so-good, Allure Best of Beauty 2013 Winner, L'Occitane Hand Cream. Hydrate!

The cosmetic industry is a billion . . . trillion dollar industry and I'm OK with being a part of it. I am a loyal buyer. I don't switch products often or have the patience to test new ones. Sorry Birchbox. And surprisingly, I don't get sucked into pretty packaging when it comes to my face and skin. I've tried a fair amount out there over the years, I know what works for me, and I'm sticking to them! And maybe you'll love them too!
